Terms & Conditions

AIMM – Marine Environment Research Association, is a Portuguese environmental non-governmental and non-profit organisation dedicated to the research and conservation of marine species and ecosystems, especially of those inhabiting in the south coast of Portugal.

These Terms and Conditions are intended to regulate the terms and conditions by which AIMM – ASSOCIAÇÃO PARA A INVESTIGAÇÃO DO MEIO MARINHO, legal collective person with NIPC 509248780, headquartered at Rua Maestro Frederico de Freitas, 15 1.º 1500-399, in Lisbon (hereinafter “AIMM”) shall be governed.

The AIMM website and online store provide, in addition to information about the association’s work, the availability and supply of a set of products and/or services, in order to allow the user to order and purchase online, products and/or services presented therein.

By using AIMM it implies full acceptance and agreement of all parameters present in the Terms and Conditions described, as well as the Privacy Policy in force at the time you access AIMM. If you do not accept, in part or in full, any of the stipulated conditions, you must not make purchases at AIMM.

AIMM reserves the right to update and change the Terms and Conditions without prior notice. It is advisable to periodically check the Terms and Conditions for any changes or updates.

Intellectual property

The content, domain, information present and available on AIMM are the property of AIMM – ASSOCIAÇÃO PARA A INVESTIGAÇÃO DO MEIO MARINHO or were granted to it, and are thus protected by copyright and related rights. Any and all use, reproduction, copying or dissemination of visual, audiovisual or written content is subject to prior approval by AIMM.

The user undertakes to fully respect the conditions and rights referred to, as well as to refrain from acts that may go against the law and rights such as copyright, related rights, among other laws applicable to the use of images, videos, etc. without express approval from AIMM. AIMM cannot be held responsible for any misuse of such products.

Payment methods

AIMM provides the following payment methods:

After payment is completed, AIMM will proceed with a standard verification, so that it is possible to process and ship the order. Users will receive an email confirming that the order has been paid for.

Purchase conditions

Product availability
All products and/or services available at AIMM can be purchased, except in cases of breakage or stock limitation. Products may be unavailable without prior notice, but in these circumstances they will be properly identified in AIMM’s online store.

In the event that the product is no longer available after the purchase has been completed, AIMM undertakes to contact the user, by telephone or email, as soon as possible in order to expedite the process with the user.

Fees and taxes
At AIMM’s online store the prices shown are in EURO, with the appropriate rates of VAT and taxes being applied in accordance with the law in force, which are already included in the price shown.

Order cancellation
It is only possible to cancel an order 24 hours before delivery. To cancel the order, you must send an email to info@aimmportugal.org with the title “Cancellation of Order #0000”, or call the contacts indicated on the website. In both cases the user will receive a confirmation email of the cancellation forward to the e-mail address used in the order. The refund, when payment has already been made, will be ensured, deducting the financial expenses of cancellation.

If the cancellation request has been made after the order has been shipped, it will be forwarded for delivery and the user may choose to refuse to accept it. AIMM is not responsible for possible delays in handling order cancellations.

AIMM reserves the right not to process orders or refunds in cases of data inconsistency, fraud or user misconduct, as well as for technical reasons beyond AIMM’s control.

Exchanges and returns
The cancellation or return process is handled on a case-by-case basis by AIMM. The request must arrive in writing to the contact email info@aimmportugal.org, up to 14 (fourteen) days after the order, with the instructions for canceling or returning the amount paid and/or returning the goods, answered and defined by AIMM, via the same contact email.

Products must be returned intact, sealed, complete and in their original packaging, which must not be damaged, altered or scratched. If the returned product(s) are of reduced size, please adapt proportional packaging. Upon receipt of the return at AIMM, the amount corresponding to the amount paid for the products will be refunded to the user (except for shipping costs). Whenever possible, the return must be made to the same payment method, but if this is not possible, the user must present proof of payment and account or card ownership, so that the return can be carried out by Bank Transfer. AIMM undertakes to reimburse the user within a maximum period of 10 days.

In the case of a request to return a product purchased at a reduced price, due to a special offer, AIMM will refund the amount actually paid by the user.

In the case of purchase of digital products and/or courses and workshops from AIMM’s online store, exchanges or returns are not accepted.

Shipping
Orders will be shipped within 7 working days after confirmation of payment for the order. Delivery is carried out by the company CTT.

Shipping costs are added to the order at the checkout. The service will be made available after confirmation of payment.

Claims

The user may file a complaint regarding any question, act, information or service provided regarding AIMM through the email contact info@aimmportugal.org or through the electronic Complaints Book available through the link: https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt.

Disclaimer

When creating and using an AIMM account, you are responsible for the account maintenance, confidentiality and for all activity arising from your account. By creating the user account and placing orders, the user expressly and unequivocally accepts the Terms and Conditions in their most up-to-date version.

AIMM is not responsible for any information disclosed by third parties, technical failures or any other problems that prevent access and proper functioning of the website and online store. AIMM is not responsible for possible damages, directly or indirectly related to the use, or inability to use, of the products and/or services made available, as well as for any delay or unforeseen event in the delivery of orders.

Treatment and security of personal data

In compliance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, the user of AIMM’s website and online store may, at any time, exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and communication of their data through the following ways: in the website area called “My account” or via email info@aimmportugal.org. If you wish to cancel your e-mail, you must do so using the e-mail address found in our database, otherwise we will be unable to remove it.

The user authorizes AIMM to process their personal data in an automated way, including all those disclosed at the time of registration on the website, for the purposes necessary for the relationship with the user, management and execution of purchases and respective registrations, access control, including the use of “cookies” technology, which can be accessed by AIMM service providers and suppliers, namely accounting and auditing companies.
