AIMM – Marine Environment Research Association in partnership with Ocean Hub Portugal promoted the Symposium “Discussing Ocean conservation in Portuguese” as a way to commemorate the 5th of May World Portuguese Language Day and the International Day for the Portuguese Language and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).
Last May 5, 2021 we celebrated the World Portuguese Language Day and the International Day for the Portuguese Language and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries with the Symposium “Discussing Ocean conservation in Portuguese” (CPLP).
The goal of this Symposium was to promote knowledge exchange and to raise awareness about the various ongoing initiatives regarding ocean conservation throughout countries that share our common language. We hosted speakers from 7 countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe.

We would also like to thank our partner, Ocean Hub Portugal, and all the participants who shared part of their day with us, on this trip in Portuguese through several countries.
The Symposium is available on AIMM’s Youtube channel.
May this Symposium be a starting point for future events and collaborations, always united by the ocean!
