On the 19th of April, we organized a beach cleaning action open to the public at Praia de Santa Eulália, in Albufeira, under the motto “The ocean is our Earth”, an initiative by Oceano Azul Foundation that aims to celebrate Earth Day with an entire week of activities dedicated to the ocean.
We had 22 participants and we collected a total of 13.74 kg of garbage, where it was seen that the biggest problem was cigarette butts and plastic packages.
This action also picked up butts for the The Trash Traveller “Worlds Biggest Butt Pick Up” initiative!
We want to thank everyone who was involved, the students and teachers from the Aeres school, Marta from Greenvibe.pt and the Albufeira’s Municipality for providing some material for the trash collection.
